Garland has a bedtime.

You can tell when she is ready for bed. She'll be in the family room, just lying around, then she pops up, gives Michelle or I a look, and just trots into the bedroom.

It's usually a dirty look too. Like, "Why aren't you two going to bed?" As if she is some kind of old codger and we're teenagers.

Our New Chariot

Here's the culprit that started it all.

The new car has the LATCH system for attaching car seats.

We've already loaded the stroller into the back of the car. It fits nicely into the space between the back seat and the built in cargo organizer.

Is this car ready for a baby, or what?

So we did it. We got a new car.

Turns out that all it takes to get a new car is a credit check and a little bit of looking around the lot to find the right combination of color and features. We barely spent 3 hours. It seems like it should take longer.

Pictures will follow. I'm trying to convince Michelle to jump in the air like in the old Toyota commercials (Oh What A Feeling!). We're not sure how the t-minus two weeks and counting baby would feel about that though.

Fierce creature, isn't she?

Actually she can be. When Garland hears another dog walk by, she executes one of those Xena fish flops with a twist and is on her feet and barking in a couple of seconds.

The last of the baby gear?

We got the last (maybe) piece of baby equipment tonight. One of these.

The (maybe) is because on closer examination of the installation instructions, it seems that the seat belts in Michelle's car are incompatible with the car seat base. All the belts in the back seat of her Saturn buckle forward of the seat crease. This is one of five Do Not Use bullet points in the manual.

It would be really depressing if the last piece of baby gear we needed to get was a new car.
